01DMC services

A destination management company is the part of your programme that lives here. We are the people in Rome who answer the phone at seven on a Sunday because the coach is late.

Motivation is a Rome-based DMC. Agencies, corporate clients and private offices come to us with a brief — a hundred people to move through Italy, a board to host, a family to travel for three weeks — and we build the ground side of it: venues, houses, transport, guides, permits, production, and the person standing at the airport when the flight lands.

We are not a booking platform and we do not resell a catalogue. Every programme is drawn once, for one client, and priced line by line so you can see exactly what each element costs and remove the ones you do not want.

To your first proposal

We do not work by volume. A handful of programmes at a time, each with a senior planner attached from brief to departure.

02What a DMC actually does

The part that happens on this side.

Venues and houses

Palazzi, cloisters, private villas and rooftops — including the ones that never appear in a catalogue because their owners do not advertise.

Ground operations

Transfers, coaches, drivers, hostesses, escorts. Timed to the flight, not to the timetable.

Permits and access

Museum closures, monument openings, ZTL passes, harbour authorisations, filming permissions. The paperwork nobody wants.

On-site management

A team physically present for the duration. Not a phone number in another country.

One point of contact

A single planner from first brief to final invoice — no handovers, no ticketing system.

Contingency

Weather plans, medical routes, supplier failures. Written before you arrive, not improvised on the day.

03How a project runs

Four steps, no surprises.

01

Brief

You tell us who is coming, when, and what the programme is for. Fifteen minutes on a call is usually enough to start.

02

Proposal

Within 48 hours you receive a first itemized proposal: itinerary, venues, costs per line, and the options we would drop first if the budget moves.

03

Build

Site inspections where they matter, contracts with the suppliers, and a running document you can see at any point.

04

On the ground

Our team is physically there for the whole programme, with a written contingency plan and one number to call.

04Questions we’re actually asked

What is a DMC, and do we need one for Italy?

A destination management company is the local operator that turns a programme on paper into something that happens on the ground. In Italy it matters more than in most countries: access to venues, monuments and private houses runs on relationships and on permits that take weeks, and much of it is not bookable online at any price.

Do you work with agencies as well as direct clients?

Both. A large share of our work comes from agencies and event companies abroad who need a partner in Italy and want to keep their own client relationship. We work in white label when that is what the agency wants.

Which parts of Italy do you cover?

All twenty regions. We are based in Rome, with partners on the ground in the cities we use most — Milan, Florence, Venice, Naples, Palermo — and we travel to inspect anywhere a programme takes us.

What does it cost to work with you?

Programmes are priced line by line, not as a package, because no two are the same. What we can promise is that the first proposal is itemized: you see what each element costs and can remove any of them.

05Next step

Bring us a brief.

Tell us who is coming and what the programme is for. A first itemized proposal comes back within 48 hours.
